Vermaelen Set For Comeback Against Bolton

Thomas Vermaelen is set to make an earlier than expected comeback against Bolton tomorrow night.

Vermaelen, who last week signed a contract extension until 2015, returned to full training on Friday and understands that he has had no adverse reaction to his injured left ankle.

The Belgium international had an operation on his plantaris tendon seven weeks ago, following a similar operation on his other achilles tendon last season.

Despite Arsene Wenger saying on Friday that Vermaelen is ’10 days away’, he will be in the squad for the visit of Bolton in the Carling Cup and is likely to start.
