Arsenal Turn Down Adams For Assistant
Arsenal have turned down the chance to appoint Tony Adams as Assistant Manager.
wearethenorthbank.comunderstands that the Arsenal legend made it clear to his former club that he would like to be considered for the job.
He has visited Arsenal’s training ground, London Colney, on a number of occasions in the past few weeks as well as being at the Emirates for the recent Chelsea match.
Arsenal have decided not to take up on their former captain’s application as it’s believed that they want to employ from within the club.
Steve Bould – Adams’ centre half partner for the majority of his career – is the favourite to take over from Pat Rice – who is to retire due to knee problems – having impressed, coaching the Youth team for the past 11 years.
Reserve team coach, Neil Banfield, is also in the running to replace Rice.
Do you reckon he will take some other role at the club then? Perhaps taking over from Steve bould with the youth setup?
Bould or Keown would be My choice Big Donkey is an Arsenal Legend and a hero of mine – but facts are facts He is a shit Coach/Manager
I think arsenal have made the right decision, no disrespect to Mr.Arsenal at all but I agree with wenger when he said that the replacement would be someone from within the club and bouldy would a terrific choice. Adams though is and always will be Mr.Arsenal
What makes you ‘understand’ this info? A source would be nice.
OK, I’ll give you my source. And while I’m at it, pull down my pants and grab my ankles
– Arsenal are the best at keeping things behind closed doors. If I reveal my sources I won’t get any more information to leak now will I?
Adamas is a good no.2 (portsmouth fa cup) so afc have made a mistake
It’ll probably be Neil Banfield. From reading Steve Bould’s quotes about his work in the youth set-up, it’s clear to see that he is more than happy where he is at the moment. I think Banfield will be good. He’ll enjoy the work and he’s loyal to the club. Either way though, it’ll be very interesting to see who takes over from Bould or Banfield’s current, respective roles if one of them are to be promoted.
