Arsenal Set To Increase Jagielka Bid
Arsenal are preparing an increased bid for Everton’s Phil Jagielka.
As wearethenorthbank.com revealed last Wednesday, Arsenal had a bid of £12m (with add-ons) for Jagielka rejected by Everton last week.
Arsenal are set to increase their offer as they are eager to finalise a deal in time for the weekend’s Emirates Cup.
Arsene Wenger earmarked the England centre back as his number 1 target to bolster his defence and is determined to get his man.
Jagielka, 28, is settled in the North West, but the lure of Champions League football and an increase in salary could persuade the ex-Sheffield United man to move to north London.
Everton manager David Moyes is reluctant to sell Jagielka but it is understood that the Toffees need to sell players in order to finance any new signings.
