Arsenal Seal Giroud Deal
Arsenal have agreed a fee of £12.8 million with Montpellier for Olivier Giroud.
The French striker has agreed terms on a four year deal, in the region of £45,000 per week.
Giroud, 25, has been watched extensively by Gilles Grimandi during the past couple of years and will provide an aerial presence that Arsenal have been after, following the shortcomings of Marouane Chamakh and Nicklas Bendtner.
Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer having followed Giroud’s career since watching the striker play for Tours whilst scouting Laurent Koscielny.
The deal is unlikely to be announced until Giroud returns from Euro 2012.
Great news, thanks!
Who will be the next? M’Vila is still on our radar?
Anyway, did Arsenal agree with Giroud’s agent?
good job well done…M’Villa will arrive soon, but we still need an aggressive defender..#AFC#
I do hope this Grim-andi recommendation is superior to the Squallaci referral?
In fairness to Chamakh and Bendtner, the shortcomings were in the crosses/delivery – not in their aerial presence.
That tippy-tappy stuff and trying to pass the ball to the net doesn’t help the aerial game style.
Playing Bendtner in the right wing doesn’t help either, unless he could cross to himself!
Back to 442 please, Wenger.
