Arsenal have registered their interest in signing Santos attacking midfielder Ganso.

The Brazilian international, 22, has reportedly turned down a contract extension and wants to move to a European club.

Ganso is part owned by investment company DIS, who recently stated that the player ’will not play for Santos again’.

With Jack Wilshere unlikely to return to action before September and likely to be treated with the utmost caution, Arsenal are looking to bring in a creative midfielder.

Senior scouts are set to run the rule over the left footed player during the forthcoming Olympic games before making their move.

Arsenal have approached Santos, as well as the players’ lawyer, but have not yet made an offer.
