Arsenal Continue To Drive Traditions
Arsenal recently continued their rich history of tradition by offering some of their stars the chance to wear the red and white of 60 years ago, as they paid homage to the Citroën DS on its 60th Birthday.
The chance to drive the old and new models was afforded to Laurent Koscielny, Mathieu Flamini, David Ospina and Theo Walcott at Arsenal’s training ground, as they took a break from wearing lightweight kit and driving their supercars to have a go in an old classic and a new classic.
The 1961 Citroën DS, pictured, (spot the admiring glance from Le Boss!) was first launched at the Paris Motor Show and became a popular ride throughout Europe. Rumour has it that Ospina loved it so much, he’s thinking of trading in his Ferrari for one. Who said Goalkeepers are crazy?
To celebrate the Citroën DS 60th Anniversary, we have a one-of-a-kind prize to give away. No, not Ospina’s Ferrari, but a 1955 shirt (worn by the players in the gifs below) signed by Koscielny, Flamini, Ospina and Walcott.
To enter, answer the following question: Who was Arsenal’s Number 1 in 1954/55?
