Arsene Wenger will next week signal his intentions in the transfer market.

The Arsenal boss has recently returned to London from his holiday and is fully focused on finalising deals to bolster his squad.

Deals for Lille forward, Gervinho, Argentinian attacking midfielder Ricardo Alvarez and Southampton starlet Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are set to be finalised.

All three deals had hit complications causing delays in completing the signings.

As wearethenorthbank.com exclusively revealed earlier this month, Chief Scout, Steve Rowley travelled to Argentina to run the rule over Alvarez again (they have been tracking the player for three years).

The deal hit a snag as Vélez Sarsfield upped their valuation of Alvarez, whilst the player’s agent played Arsenal off against other interested clubs including AS Roma and Malaga.

The Gervinho deal has been smoother, as the player quickly agreed personal terms, but late interest from Manchester City and PSG allowed Lille to drive up the asking price for a player with only one year left on his contract.

Lille wanted €15m, but the agreed price is around €13m and with the French transfer window officially opening on July 1st, the deal is expected to be formally announced on Friday.

Arsenal’s lengthy pursuit of Oxlade-Chamberlain looks to be nearing completion. As reported by wearethenorthbank.com in May, Southampton were unwilling to sell their prized asset without a hefty 40 per cent sell-on clause, which Arsenal were reluctant to agree to.

Liverpool’s interest has also stalled the deal, but the player, and his father, ex-England winger Mark Chamberlain, prefer a move to Arsenal.
