Arsenal After Barca Wonderkid
Arsenal are planning another bid to sign one of Barcelona’s biggest young talents.
As wearethenorthbank.com reported on Wednesday, Chief Scout, Steve Rowley, travelled to Switzerland to watch the Elite Group 2 of the European Under-19 Championships – a round Robin featuring England, Spain, Montenegro and Switzerland.
Aside from watching long-term transfer target, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rowley was keeping a close eye on Barca winger Gerard Deulofeu.
Deulofeu, the youngest of Spain’s hugely talented U19 squad at 17 years of age, has been watched by a host of clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal; and has been likened at La Masia to Ronaldinho.
Rowley was also impressed by England and Nottingham Forest centre back, Jamaal Lascelles.
The 17-year-old has not yet broken into Forest’s first team but is regarded as one of the best England players at U19 level.
I love the cherry picking of Barca’s academy, If they didnt behave in such a disgusting manner I might be against us raiding La Masia for their best talent.
I think Arsenal fans should remain content with a top four finish.. The way Liverpool and Manchester United have already started spending; with Chelsea and Manchester City to follow.. The top three teams should be Manchester United, City and Chelsea. For the fourth place it will be a fight between Arsenal and Liverpool which Arsenal should win.
I am really impressed with the youtube videos of this barca kid.. but the unfortunate part is that this guy will replace either nasri or fabregas..
Delofeu is absolutely outstanding. Would be quite the coup. Barca surely won’t let it happen though, he’s extremely highly rated.
